For our first weekend in Colorado, Logan and I decided to each pick something we absolutely wanted to do. Mine was to go up into the Park and watch the sunset. So Saturday morning, we got up, toured apartments, and then headed up to Estes Park. It was some serious deja vu driving up there, as both of us used to have summer jobs that were based out of Estes/Loveland, and we hadn't been there in 2 years. We walked around downtown for a little, ate dinner at Grubsteak (where I had an incredible Elk burger and one of the best beers I've ever had), and then drove to the park itself.
It had been such a long time since we had been there that both of our mouths dropped open; it was even more beautiful than we had remembered. We drove along Trail Ridge Road for an hour or so before we came to a perfect overlook to watch the sunset. I set up my tripod and blocked off my section because I was feeling selfish about the view - it was worth it. Nights like this solidify my decision to come out here.
